Modernism explained

Modernism says that people can create, improve, and change their environments by using scientific knowledge, technology, and hands-on experimentation. The term refers to many political, cultural, and artistic movements that grew out of changes in Western society at the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th. Between 1884 and 1914, there were reforming cultural movements in art and architecture, music, literature, and the applied arts.
