Personalism explained

Three main ideas make up a school of thought:

  • Only real things are people (in the ontological sense).
  • Only people are worth anything.
  • People are the only ones with free will.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Borden Parker Bowne, a theologian, led a movement called “Boston Personalism” at Boston University. This was a time when “personalism” did well.
